LEXINGTON, AL -- VIP Songwriters Hall of Fame Museums Art, Culture and History Council recognized Brian L. Wells as the class of 2014, Recording Artist of the Decade for the Northwest Alabama Music Publishing International. His latest original release “GPS Directions to My Heart”, a song about getting a second chance for love, was awarded first place in Country music for the 2014 Songwriter category. He has also been nominated for induction in the Singers and Songwriters Class of 2015 for the VIP-Hall of Fame Museum.

The event, “Heart of the Matter” is hosted by Greer Firestone, Executive Director of the non-profit, Heart in the Game that focuses on raising funds to support heart screening for children and especially those involved in sports. The evening’s events will be educational and fun too, including dance performances, opening dancing, silent auction as well as live music from Brian L. Wells and the regional cover band, Club Phred.

A local legend in the dance community, Brian Wells, has re-invented himself in another creative genre, singing and songwriting.
Five years ago Brian set out on another path; composing and singing his own songs. With the passion and drive he expresses on the parquet floor, his success in this new arena led to an invitation to the Grammies in LA only two months ago.
His songs are poems of his personal journey through pain, loss, joy and love. (As composer George Gershwin famously said "Without love, brother, we'd be out of business!")

It will be a memorable evening of Country music that will include a preview of his soon-to-be released song, “If I Could Die a Hero” – a song dedicated to all those who find the courage to make a difference in the world, protecting this country and especially its children.
Brian L. Wells is pleased to announce that he will be playing as part of a traditional/contemporary church service at the United Methodist Church of the Atonement in Claymont, DE on September 29, 2013 at 10am.
This will be the first live performance of his latest original release “I’ll Follow His Light”, a song about Brian’s personal journey through recovery from addiction. This event is well timed to coincide with the annual celebration of National Recovery Month in September.
